clearly none of us would mind an applet quick launch on the desktop...

I've had good luck with the Maemo Word Processor, a.k.a. AbiWord 2.2.7,
Maemo Word Processor, a.k.a. AbiWord 2.2.7 -

Its got some bugs, (without the bluetooth keyboard, once you use the full screen touch keys, you can't get back the on-screen smaller keys without restarting the program...read the thread) and isn't as polished as Etrunko's excellent Gnumeric port, but I regularly load and save Word .doc files and file share through gmail.

I have excellent productivity with my broken, spanish language thinkoutside stowaway keyboard, and can do all I ever need with it. It is a bit laggy, but solid enough for real use. All standard formatting is there. The Gnumeric port is extremely fast for data entry with the bluetooth keyboard.

Novell's web client for my school is fast enough for me to do attendance, detention logs (with gnumeric), email and file sharing (either through Novell or Gmail) and web browsing via google's personalized desktop through my HSDPA LG-cu500 phone.

It streams radio anywhere, holds a charge all day, and loads topo, road, or satellite maps to your location or anywhere else with maemo mapper.

I am wondering why retailers can't in-stock the N770 anymore. I'd buy another one if I could find it, because my brother in law wrote "stars", that cool stargazing program recently ported to maemo. How much cooler could a N870 or whatever be???!
