By the way, if your router is one of the type than can have a small replacement Linux firmware installed such as Tomato, DD-WRT or OpenWRT you can set your channel beyond channel 11 up to 14. Of course you would then have to have a wifi card that can access those channels.

I'm using Tomato and it's so cool because there is a "Scan" button that will look for what channels in your area are being used. You would then pick a channel not currently being used to reduce interference.

In this picture you can see near the bottom that the scan button was clicked and it found 2 api's in the current area using channel 6.
