Just a suggestion.

Try pulling the battery out and letting it sit for awhile. That way, if anything is running inbetween battery swaps it should die. I would even try powering it up without a battery in an attempt to bleed any capacitors that may be holding a charge.

Afterwards, replace the battery, plug in the charger, and try to power it on.

It seems like some minor issue that should be fine if you can get passed it.
