I also tried the gpsies site, they claim to be able to save google map tracks/routes directly to .gpx format, but the 770 could not read the resulting file. See http://www.gpsies.com/createTrack.do

That site is ideal, as you can plan your route and save it to the 770 ... if only it worked.
