You could use Kandis instead - which is desiged as timer for making tee, but from some distance tee and eggs might not be that different ;-)

Note that it is known that Kandis needs some seconds to start, this is beeing worked on (scanning for the optimal matching font for the screen size seems to take a considerable time on the N8xx likely because of its small CPU, but I not happy in hardcoding the correct font).

Click on the timer display itself to get to the configuration dialog.

And even if you try it and decide to do not use it, please still rate it (at least if the rating is >=3 ;-)).
