Easiest way is to add all the repositories on http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationRepositories - that should make any repository-added software handle all its dependencies automatically.

Some authors have dependencies on packages in other repos, which (IMHO) is rather foolish for exactly the reason you mention.
