Ya know, Ta-t3 just reminded me of something. Someone around here referred me over to a device called a "Cradlepoint" that essentially takes a 3g dongle and acts as the host, allowing you to plug the dongle in and convert from 3g to wifi.

over at the EVDO forums where I asked some questions about them. That should get you started. However, given what I've read, it's really not a very cost effective solution. If you want to see what I'm talking about,

and scroll a little over a third of the way down to where it says " Product and Contract Options: " (you'll need to click on "show details" to reveal the "fine print" hidden inside) and read about how epically screwed you get using one of these devices.
