Yes, it's exactly like XP & now Vista; if by "like" we assume we have an implicit "in no way ..." prefix.

People are going to show up for the old operating system and told to go to the new operating system. They are then going to decide whether they LIKE the new operating system.
The only thing being "told" to go elsewhere is HTTP/1.1-compliant user agents following a 301 "Moved Permanently" redirect.

Most users probably won't notice the change in URL, or site name, and instead just notice a new theme. This theme will be consistent with the rest of maemo.org (which can be seen under development at http://newstyle.maemo.org/ and the design discussions on -community).
