Hi forum,

I am looking for a simple audio player that does what I need: play songs in a directory. I think this should be the easiest thing to do in a N800, but I failed.

I tried Canola. Wow, what a great UI! However, it was so damn slow (13000 songs?), that I uninstalled it. It is ok to slowly update the database *when you tell it*, but how can I make it faster for everyday use?

mediaplayer is also very slow, though.

In fact, what I want is a media player that does NOT classify my songs. They are already classified by directories and subdirectories. I tried to play songs clicking them in the filemanager, but although mediaplayer opens, it says "Unable to play" (why????).

Should I give up and install something else, like mplayer?
