my screen did get a little wet but its been dry for a month now, I can't pin the problem down to wet fingers, my problem is more probably a cause of abuse.

this sounds more like my problem, if my screen stops working i can only get it active by sliding it open and pushing and twisting slightly on the screen.

is there any benefit to running an Debian or Ubuntu over Meamo? given my device wont have much of a touch screen.
