I have to agree. When I bought my n810 the thing that clinched it rather then buying an ipod touch was the larger screen, hardware keyboard and the ability to run more flexible software then the really simple iphone applications. Now that I have had a n810 for some time the big, beautiful screen is the killer feature that enables all the other things I like about it like pidgin, ebooks and web browsing. But even this great screen can have some very small UI elements, especially on web pages. Shrink the screen without changing the resolution and I fear web browsing will become a chore.

I use my n810 as a scaled down netbook with sensational battery life rather then the beefed up smartphone, using applications like pidgin, ssh, vnc. I was hoping for an n810 with faster hardware and a 5 row keyboard as potential icing but the leaked specs seem more like super n97. I'm the first to admit my use case isn't very mass market but these leaked specs don't seem to really support it.

There is another size issue that concerns me. In my experience pocketability has more to do with depth then height or width. I routinly carry my n810 in my pocket without issue but a thicker device would be more of a bother.

Finally I hope a version with no gsm radio is produced. I think apple's real stroke of brilliance with iphone was to re-use the design for a web-enabled pmp to produce a much more affordable device. I know a lot of people who carry a cheap cell phone but bought an ipod touch for media playback, applications, mobile web and let's face it, iphone sex appeal without the monthly fees or contract. Unlocked gsm devices are expensive, especially ones with high resolution.
