This has been made clear by Ari from the initial launch of the N800 - the only thing that has changed since is that Nokia are now reconsidering the porting of OS2007 to the 770. The 770 will be sold significantly cheaper than the N800, so you have a choice - buy the 770 (the OP can get it for $225) or spend $175 more and buy the N800. Two different price points, two different products, both supported going forward.
