That's pretty much what I run. Some generic cheap cell phone (came free with the plan), n800, and my laptop (well and desktop but that's not as portable and I'm thinking about turning it into a server).

The n800 can be swapped out with any dedicated device as necessary (camera for good photos, DS/PSP for gaming, etc..).
