good morning -
its prob me being a bit thick but ->

'Configure Navit by editing its XML configuration file, e.g. in xTerm:
Search for the file navit.xml as superuser root
Create a folder called .navit in your user directory
Copy navit.xml there and edit it
Replace the path to the map file to fit your device and configuration:
<mapset enabled="yes">
<map type="binfile" enabled="yes" data="/media/mmc2/map/planet.bin"/>
</mapset> '

defeats me
can this all be done on the n800 or do i need to attach to a computer via usb to do it and what programs do i need to do this ?

or - should i just wait until its properly sorted and stable to just download and use without editing its structure? [how close is this ?]

if there was a step by step with 'primary school' instructions and what hardware/software to use id have a bash, but it seems very assuming of computer literacy.

im in the UK.

cheers
