I´m not sure I understand you correctly. Do you mean you would like to have the text formatting "small" selected by default? Wouldn´t it make more sense to just zoom out the complete view? Did you try the +/- buttons on your device?

Hmm, here I´m unsure too Linking notes should already be possible. As soon as you type the name of an existing note, the text should change into a link. Also it´s possible to create a link to a new note, by selecting some text and then pressing the "link" button (arrow symbol).
