Yeah I have this issue as well. I think #1 comes down to bluetooth security/authentication - in Linux especially all forms of security are taken seriously. It's a bit more lax in Windows. It also has to do with pairing - sometimes my bluetooth mouse is recognized (particularly if it's already on at boot) other times I must run # hidd --connect. The behavior on the tablet in my experience is that it thinks it has reconnected but the other computer hasn't gotten the message (or actively refused the connection). Not sure if it disconnects after 15 as I tend to use it as needed with GIMP or photoshop and it goes idle when I'm not using it (killing bluetooth connections). Perhaps there is a daemon available to accept auto-accept trusted bluetooth connections - blueman is working pretty well for me but maybe someone would be willing to write something better. In the meantime when it disconnects you can (and should) setup a VNC server on the host machine and just quickly open vncviewer on the tablet and reconnect. Or and you seem to be running Linux on the target machine, ssh into it. It's not ideal but it's wireless and doesn't require too much messing around.
