The new version of Abiword for Maemo is a lot more stable than previous versions, but Abiword is not perfectly compatible with Microsoft Word. Many of my more complex Microsoft documents are mangled. But Abiword loads a lot more quickly than OpenOffice, so it is much better for just opening documents that people send you as e-mail attachments or editing simple Word documents.
