MM is such a great ap for the IT, Thanks.

I was wondering about the database compact feature. Every time I try to use it on a repository that has more than just a few maps downloaded, it eventually crashes MM, and often corrupts the whole database. I imagine it is simply running out of memory. I don't have virtual memory turned on, which I'm sure makes the problem worse, but I am a little worried about wearing out flash memory with it. In fact I just trashed out an SD card while doing a database compact! So perhaps there was a lot of writing going on there too.

So I wonder if it is possible to copy the whole db file to a PC (I have many running Linux) and compact the database there using some SQL-Lite compatible utility, then copy it back? If so, how do you do it?

I also use the IT and MM while hiking in mountains. I then do screen shots of our tracks on top of various maps and send them to others that were on the hike. A feature request would be an altitude gain/loss along a track.
