Tablets would be good portable "card catalogs" that people could carry around while they're looking for books. Having access to synopsis, references, etc. would be very helpful when trying to find something specific. Of course, being connected to the internet gives one access to Wikipedia, Amazon, etc.
Actually, I can think of all sorts of uses for a tablet in a library -- partly because I always have my tablet at the library with me.
If you could explain exactly what it is your're looking for, it's be easier to share applicable ideas.
