It woud be nice to have a list of Ubuntu apps that work or don't with notes on their usage. Example: xboard installs but doesnt work because of font problems i couldn't solve. Scid installs, works well, would benefit from board rotation. Twitux works as Twitter client. If someone starts such a list or table, observations should be dated, so one has a clue about whether they are still true.
