I tested it using Tear in my N810 and I could not log in. I had hoped maybe Tear would be better, but after testing for about 10 minutes, I gave up on getting it to work.

Using NX or VNC on the N810 with Linode.com (or prgmr.com or slicehost or even Amazon EC + Ubuntu) might be doable. I could test that when I get time because I have a Linode.com account. But the fact of the matter is, I really prefer to just use my N810 as it is.

EDIT: sorry, I cannot test the NX or VNC scenarios because I do not have a GUI on my Linode.com server.
