Hi there. I've been using the N800 as a music playing device.

Though I've been using a few different media players.

I love Canola for it's magnificant UI! But the impact on battery life draws me away. I use the Home button to miminize Canola, and it'll chop a newly charge'd 7-hour battery down to 3 hours.

Now, YouAmp, it looks nice and lightweight. Though, it chops the battery life down to 4 hours, an hour better than Canola.

The low hour performance worries me, but I'm not jumping to conclusions. This is with the screen on full brightness, BUT. The device will be used playing music with the button and screen locked. Well, the battery life zooms up when the screen isn't on. But on the other hand, you can't check the battery life while the screen is off, so I can't get numbers.

But, is it normal? I've also tried mediabox (but I can't select "Play all by this artist" so I don't know how long it will stay on my N800). The default Media player fares as well as YouAmp does. I tried GPE-Suite Meida Player, and it crashes upon loading.

I also have the volume up half-way, as I'm sure volume output has a part in battery consumption. This is also using headphones.

I guess I'm really asking if anyone has any clue on how battery life is affected while playing music. I don't know if it follows the "Idle time", as I seriously doubt I can play music for 10 days without touching the screen.

But I do thank this community. It's been very helpful, and this past month or so with my N800 has been absolutely joyful.
