This is the second time I have read someone mentioning this ... what was wrong with the location of the mic on the 770? I plop it down flat on the desk in front of me and use it like a speaker-phone and it works great. Or you could turn the volume *way* down and hold the 770 to your ear (and admittedly look like a dork) for more private converations and the mic will be in the right spot. Now that the N800 has the mic on the top, it seems a little more awkward to me. If you have it flat, you have to turn it upside-down. If you have it on the stand, the mic is pointing away from you.

Yes ... I couldn't agree with you more. I am a bit stunned that this was not a primary feature introduced with the N800. From what I understand, there are people working on it but it is not high priority.
