I'm with you dude. What ever market that was there for iPhones has been filled by iPhones. A good deal of initial sales were to previous owners of Motorola Razors. Another fashion phone.
Productivity was not on the top of these peoples list of priorities. It still isn't. If it were there would be an outcry for multi-tasking from current iPhone owners.

There isn't because it's better to look good than to feel good. When you're talking on an iPhone or single handed thumb texting as you breese through an airport you look marvelous...
Standing off to the side two handed texting in landscape mode while holding your carry-on bag between your knees, not so much.

Meanwhile the productive cell phone user is sitting in the Crown Room connected to WiFi and sipping a complimentary cocktail while browsing his/her e-mail, and finding out where the good jazz is in the town where they will be staying tonight.
