They definitely are biased, but i doubt they are paid off by apple. The thing is that apple is very famous especially in the US. They have a cult following. There are also people who hate apple equally. Once engadget posts something about apple both sides fight it out in the comments and engadget gets more hits.... which is all that they care about.

Either you absolutely love apple or you absolutely hate it..... there is no middle ground for apple.
