Does anyone know of a tool to read the SD card id in Maemo or in Debian?

Is there a way to access the SD card's SPI bus directly and read/write bytes?

EDIT: Perhaps this can be done via the lspci or setpci tools, however I can't get them to work in Easy Debian. ("no working access method found")
