Please help - I am at a complete loss here in the Linux world. I need to be able to take control of a remote Win XP Pro machine. I use Logmein.com but realize it does not work with the N800 Opera browser.
I have read VNC may be the solution. I have another week to get this working or I will have to return my N800 to CompUSA and abandon the coolest handheld device I have ever used.
I installed the newest version of the VNC viewer to the N800. Based on articles found online - I tried to configure WinXP for remote use without a VNC Server. I opened ports 5500, 5800 and 5900 on the router and TrendMicro FireWall. Every attempt to connect immeadiately resulted in "could not connect to server"...
Can someone PLEASE give detailed instructions on if VNC Server is required and if so which server is best to install on XP Pro and how to setup so it can be used in an environment with LinkSys Router and TrendMicro Firewall. Also is there a need to use SSH? If so - please provide insight into what to use and how to install/setup.
Sorry that I am SO ignorant in this world. I am trying to stick with it instead of returning N800 and going back to Win device that I can configure myself.
Thanks,
Jeff
