I have been a Maemo user since the N800 was released. It was one of the best hardware devices I ever had using it as a ebook reader, browsing the net at the University and at home, using it as bittorrent client with a USB attached, etc etc

It always got the attention of everybody, and I had to explain that it wasnt a cellphone, just an internet tablet. When I had my internship in Japan, my coworkers and friends freaked out about it, having Linux in the pocket with a nice interface was so great. Some of them had the Sharp Zaurus but all the software was quite old and unmaintained...

Then, after a while my Nokia N800 sadly died and to repair it (just the cable that connects the screen to the main board) was too expensive that wasnt worth it.

I loved so much my tablet but then I was seeing how Nokia was loosing the high-end market against different OS/phones I got really disappointed. My interesting about FLOSS decreased as well... and when I saw some screenshots about Maemo 5 or some rumours about it... man... I was so sad...

but hey!! It seem Nokia did a really good job, specially with the phone and the new user interface!! I think we will have the best Internet Tablet ever really soon!! Thanks Nokia! Im interested again in FLOSS, in Nokia, in Maemo and maybe after finishing my master I will try to join forces to design the best user interface ever!!
