Taking into account VAT, the n900 is still ~15% cheaper in the states.
Not the usual rip-off (for us europeans) on nokia part this time, but let's see how the price will evolve (I guess that in a short time you'll find it for less than $400, while the european price will stay at 600-650€, depending on country and local VAT rate).

you are correct, Nokia do not have the same brand recognition in USA and by that will be overshadowed by Apple Marketing
$ 400.- if the N900 will not be a hot seller, then sure THAT will be THE best buy..and it is not by anyway impossible.
