lol. I don't know why you need to shut it off each night. It uses such little power that I've left it on for months at a time, idling overnight even. At full charge you have 10-14 days of idle time. I don't think 8 hours of idle is exactly going to threaten your battery life.
Well, of course that assumes you have wireless and any energy eating apps (like GPS and media player) turned off.
