I was thinking about a
Nokia
service like "
Facebook
", see here the original posting:

and today I read in the news that actually Nokia does something in this sense:

quote>>>
Nokia recently acquired the small company
Plum
which specialized in
Social Media Networking
, and still have an active member base. It is very similar to that of
Facebook
, but lets you manage your Groups better. Contacts, and feeds and how you want them shared.
Many people have set up two
Facebook
accounts, one for professional usage, and another for friends and family, or for actual people, and friends they have actually met in person face to face. This is where
Plum
comes into its own, allowing you to easily manage your feeds, and contacts so you only show certain information shared with those people you choose to share with.

>>> Another thing is why Nokia is using
Facebook
when with its user base it can create a NokiaUsers platform which has
Ovi
share as repository for pictures, videos, but everyting to be integrated in the "
NokiaUsers
" - a better name for this facebook clone is needed, but Nokia needs to lead and in order to do that they need to promote their own services and brands to attract people.

250 million active users
. Nokia's
goal
is to have
300 million by 2012
. If Nokia can get any part of the Facebook revenue stream for directing users that way, that's nearly free money.
