Both of these changes are thanks to feedback from users like you. benny1967 wanted normal scrollbars, and after I tried them once again, I also liked them more than kinetic scrolling. Multiple selection is back because danramos mentioned that this was really essential for him, so I re-introduced support for this. It's still either multi-selection or gestures, but you can choose which is more important to you.
