Nobody is telling you to spend the money - it's your choice (and btw, email is still cr@p on the N800).

Nokia have stated their case regarding ongoing support and firmware releases for the 770 - target your issues where they will do the most good by raising bugs in Maemo Bugzilla.

Other than that, your 770 is what it is and will be supported. It's just that it's not the flagship product anymore, something us gadget lovers all learn to live with in time.
