I think you should redo the hand so it looks a bit cleaner/smooth, feel (free to trace mine), and add some blank space on the "pencil" tool to represent the "eraser" and "head" parts. Maybe some ticks on the ruler.

These small details would still follow the UI guidelines, but give the icons a much more polished look.
