You guys are so funny and really boring when you constatly ask about how he got the device. He got it somehow. It's the least important thing how he got it. You are so missing the point by denying his opinions based on his experience (of 5 months) with that device because you don't know how he got it.
That's like denying a murder with strong proofs (gun, motive..) because you don't know how the murder got his gun.
It's not as much how he got it (see my point and ninja joke). It's more, what hardware device is it. Is it really the same n900 that say Nokia is giving out to other people with NDAs? Or is it missing a part? Or maybe it was a n900 prototype so it's missing key hardware changes.

For your gun analogy, it'd be more.. "do we really know this is the right gun or maybe it's another gun with a different bullet" thus changing the proof in the case.
