if by outlook sync you refer to the calendar, then at least one workaround has been suggested, involving google as a third party.

according to maemo.nokia.com, it will also be possible to sync to an exchange server.

on a general note, i wouldn't say that the n900 is made exclusively for those with linux system. but the more specific you can be, the better. and may i also promote the habit of searching on this forum, there is a lot of information here. typing in some keywords and then searching for specific keywords within a thread is often a winning combination.
