Right - are you using a later SW version than the guy at my-symbian? If you can disclose this information of course. He seems to be using 2009.34-15 as seen here.

Otherwise we just got another obstacle to pass

Problem with fMMS? Run in x-terminal: cp /tmp/fmms.log /home/user/MyDocs/
After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.
