-the background is a watermark of the event site and logo. As a designer I like watermarks because they add depth and interest, but I'm not religious about this one.

-I am cleaning up text issues like underlines. I think those may have been hyperlinks. I just wanted to get that up for review; thanks for catching those though.

-I will incorporate your other suggestions. I will do what I can with hyphenation but no guarantee they can all be eliminated.
