3G makes much more sense than GPRS. A phone (S60, Android, Maemo, ...) says '3G' too when it has the connectivity. It is also shorter, and more akin to speed provided. Otherwise one could call it
"$Mobile_Telecom data"
e.g.
"T-Mobile data"
