I'm planning on getting a PC, but a notebook (the HP envy 13 -- which is mad expensive, but damn gorgeous and incredibly well rounded). It's not a heavy gaming machine, but it'll allow me to do the work that I want, plus some light FPSs if I so chose.

For $299US, the PS3 slim is a steal and far cheaper than a full on PC. No linux? No problem. I have too many devices that run linux already, and soon to include a phone (hint: rhymes with Ben-sign-run-head). To be honest, aside from my workstation, server, and NIT, I needn't any more linux!

The thing that most interests me about the PC is nVidia 3D vision. I think gaming in 3D would be a wild experience, but at present, it's quite expensive (pc, glasses, monitor == $1500 - $2000). With the push for 3D tvs and the like, I'm sure that consoles will soon upgrade a dimension.

Also, I prefer to buy my wares. I play on and off, so it's not too expensive. Plus, I consume only quality titles (reviews, credible recommends, etc), so the cost is well worth it.

So PS3, here I come!
