LEDs have run times in the hundred of thousands of hours. I don't think you'll need to worry about that. As long as you stay within their voltage range. You can under volt them, but don't over volt them.
That's only if they are sufficiently heatsinked and not being driven above the rated current. Considering these are intended to be a flash, i wouldn't be surprised if
-1- they are not well heat-sinked
-2- the driver is over-driving them (briefly)

If the current level is not adjustable then there may be no way to turn them on for long periods without destroying them.

@shadowjk: are you referring to white LEDs in general, or the LEDs in a Nokia device?
