That makes no sense - the technology and network in use is/should be pretty much identical.
I've learned to take what T-Mo CS reps state with a pinch of salt. I had problems connecting to the data service when I joined and the CS rep I spoke to insisted that 3G did not carry data, only GPRS did that.

But if you are using it that much you should be on their top tier anyway. It seems like it is real "fair use" which is why I opted for it over the other providers.
Yup, from what I can see it is head and shoulders above everyone else's offerings, except - maybe - Three, but their website is so vague about what they provide I can't tell.
