I understand your concern about being too negative Texrat, but personally I believe that there should be a way to tell people that a certain problem doesn't really exist.
I believe that there will be ideas/problems posted to brainstorm that haven't been thinked through enough once more people start to come to this site and find brainstorm. If and idea is stupid and many people can see that there is no point in it then it should be told to the author straight out.
Nothing good comes out of being too nice and not telling what you really think about an idea. Not doing so could just lead to too many people wasting their time with a poor idea while some other idea that could very well be worth the effort might get without attention that it might have deserved.
