After interogating the salesperson, he finally admitted that the display is LCD but the back-lighting is white LED's. Actual LED displays are in heavy commercial use in those huge displays that you see at sporting events. Those displays are almost unviewable when standing just a few feet away. According to Best Buy then, the screens on our NIT's have LED displays.
