I like the eye-cross technique, too, but many (if not most) stereoscopic images require you to look past the image (that is, make your eyes move farther apart rather than closer together). The the images on the minerals page
and the lilypad girl
are that kind of image.
To me, this is a much more "fragile" way to do it, I'm constantly losing the effect and I have trouble focusing on the picture properly...
