The workflow I used to get Danish successfully uploaded was like this:

1. Download po/conboy.pot

1. In poedit: File - New catalog from pot file (enter sensible info)

1. Translate, save giving you a .po file

1. In transifex, Add a new translation

1. Local file is the .po file you got from poedit, leave the select target file dropdown empty, and in the field immediately below it entered "po/da.po". Commit message, enter something witty about Steve Jobs' mom.

1. Click send, and wait for conny to fish the mail out and upload your contribution to the conboy VCS. Only then does transifex see it.

So you could conceivably compare what you've been doing against this to see where you went wrong. This worked for me, in any case.
