well, you could definitly use it as a tv remote for the ps3, after connecting it, so playing games should be possible, too. BUT, I think there's a problem with the recognization of the controller number, you cannot just get a PS3 controller and play with it wireless. At first you need to plug it in, via USB. And here comes the problem, probably sony checks via some internal protocols, whether or not it is an official controller and only if, allows it to connect.
Anyway, I still think connecting it via Bluetooth to use it for things like start Blurays and stuff should be possible.
If I missread your topic completely and you're talking about remote play via internet or the local network, that won't work, sony allows only 2 devices the connection to the ps3 in that way - the PSP and the location free player.
