Just on problem, not related to the localisation, but to the .po file format :

45 #: ../src/interface.c:906 ../src/interface.c:1009 ../src/interface.c:1047
46 msgid "Highlight"
47 msgstr "Surligné"

In this translation, you can use "Surligné" or "Surligner" (infinitif) or "Surlignage" (action of higlighting), without more information you can't translate this string correctly.
You need more context than the .po file give you.
The lack of context is a common problem and someday we will (hopefully) translate our strings directly inside the UI (or an emulated UI). Until then I'm not 100% sure what to do about this. Of course you can install the application and have a look at it, but it might not be possible because there might not be an installable version or you might not have a device. Another possibility would be that the project admin provides screen shots of the application, but that's probably only possible if the application has a very simple UI, otherwise there have to be just too many screenshots.

For the concrete problem: "Highlight" is inside the text style menu. It's there together with buttons like "Bold", "Italic", "Big", "Small", etc...
