I cannot tell you how much I hate Nokia Customer "Support". It's surreal. It's unbelievable.

The story is... I have this problem with my Ovi account. It doesn't remember my account settings. Various details keep disappearing, but what's most annoying is that whenever I log in, my language is set to "English". I set it to "German", save it, log out, log in... it's English again. I hate it.

So after months of waiting (could be they're aware of it and fix it), I try to contact Nokia Care. They direct me to a form where I have to choose one of the following topics: Devices, Ringtones, Nokia Music, Repair, .... - Guess what's not there? Right. Ovi.

Doesn't matter. Ovi is only said to be the crucial point in Nokias strategy. It's only fair to have Ovi-related questions filed under "Other", right? Right.

So I fill in the form, explain what happens, send it.

Their reply is hilarious:
It works for them, they say. They assume I'm using an "alternative browser" (when did you last hear this phrase? "Alternative browser"?). It's not supposed to work with browsers other than Microsoft IE 7 and above. They are happy to answer further questions.

So. Well. Yes. Here I am. Trying to run MSIE7 on my N810 or on my Nokia S60 phone. (And of course I do log into Ovi with MSIE7 when I'm on a Windows PC.)

Why don't they put one of these retro-buttons on the site? "This website is best viewed with Internet Explorer 7"? That would be kind of fun.

No, not really. I'm pissed.
Not only didn't they read my mail or try to help me, they seriously tell people in 2009 that a certain type of browser is required to use their major web portal. - When did Nokia lose contact with reality?
