I have the OVI SDK and OVI maps ain't pretty. It made me wondered if Nokia really "got" this whole "internet" thing all you kids are going on about.

One thing is for certain though; I have used Maemo Mapper and a real time traffic layer on my N800 and now N810 every day now for almost 2 years and have become quite used to it.
In fact, it is safe to say I rely on it in my day to day..

If M/M wasn't coming to the N900 I was hoping I could get something cobbled together using OVI... not an easy task. And not to responsive when it runs either.
With Googles API's, in about 20 minutes I was able to whip up a locally stored web page that will at least give me an overview of my area until something better comes along or I get motivated.
...and bonus! Google didn't make me register and wait for approval before working with it either.
